Who is eligible to apply?

1. Senior academic staff position at an accredited higher education institution.

2. All disciplines are welcome. 

3. Willingness to stay in Israel for the duration of the retreat (between 2-6 weeks).

4. Preference will be given to scholars visiting Israel for the first time.

The retreat also includes immersive cultural experiences, such as Hebrew language lessons and guided explorations of the region’s rich history and natural beauty, creating a well-rounded and inspiring environment for academic growth.

Program Information 

& Benefits:

  • Tuition: Free to participate
  • Funding: $3,500 for 2 weeks, +$500 per extra week (max $5,000)
  • Expenses: Travel, accommodation, health insurance, and other costs are the participant's responsibility

During the retreat, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of academic and cultural activities, including a day trip to the Negev, a guided tour of Beer-Sheva, social events on campus, and meetings with BGU academic staff. All activities are provided at no cost.

Accommodation options include U-TelDomus in Beer-ShevaLeonardo Hotel in the Negev, and Sherman's Hotel in Sde Boker, with additional options available closer to the retreat start.
